Cream of the Crop Photo Contest Celebrates 14 Years
Illinois students ages 8 to 18 are invited each year to submit original photos that showcase agriculture across the state—from farms, fields and livestock to farmers’ markets, equipment and rural landscapes.
The 2026 Cream of the Crop Photo Contest is now closed. Visit our tent at the Illinois State Fair to pick up a complimentary contest calendar while supplies last.
Scholarships
Winners will be selected in three age groups:
- Ages 8 to 10
- Ages 11 to 14
- Ages 15 to 18
Prizes will be awarded in each age group:
- First place: $1,000 Bright Start 529 scholarship
- Second place: $500 Bright Start 529 scholarship
- Third place: $250 Bright Start 529 scholarship
How to Enter
Students may submit up to two original photos related to Illinois agriculture.

Winners
Winning photos are featured in Ag Invest promotional materials, including the 2026–2027 Cream of the Crop calendar. All contest entries are also displayed at the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office tent during the Illinois State Fair.
