Overview
Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs serves as the state’s Chief Investment Officer and Chief Banking Officer. The Illinois State Treasurer’s Office manages an investment portfolio of approximately $65 billion as of May 2026 and oversees billions of dollars in banking transactions each year.
